Copied Info What is Getting Things Done GTD

Getting Things Done® (GTD®) Is a whole workflow ecosystem invented by David Allen to control your day and bring you calm. Think! What do people usually do, when they have a few tasks they most do today, or else? Some would hang up a note in front of them, GTD will place all your tasks in front of you (when you need them), by having a complete and current inventory of all your projects/tasks, organized and reviewed systematically, so you can focus clearly, and make trusted choices about what to do (and not do) at any moment. GTD embodies an easy, step-by-step highly efficient method for achieving a relaxed and productive state, as follows:

  1. CAPTURE or Collect all tasks in a trusted system

  2. CLARIFY Next actions and successful outcomes

  3. ORGANIZE tasks into categories (Lists), based on how, where, and when you will work on it

    • Waiting For tasks that you are waiting for other people before you can continue

    • Next Actions any task that is Actionable now and not dated, optionally could be categorized by context i.e. Office, Job site, Car, Calls, PC

      • Next Action without Due Date sample

      • Next Action with Due Date sample

    • Calendar All Dated tasks (also your calendar time-specific entries)

    • Projects/Sub-Projects (parent sub-tasks)

    • Someday Maybe (Later)

    • Project Support Material (Tag)

  4. ENGAGE or Make trusted choices about what to work on in any given moment

  5. REFLECT or Step back to review and update your system regularly
